Brine distribution shafts must be liquid-tight and preferably made of PE material. Suitable shut-off devices must be provided in the flow and return to each circuit or probe.

Suitable control devices must be installed on the manifolds for hydraulic equalisation of the probes. Filling and venting fittings must be provided. Static requirements must be taken into account when installing and backfilling shafts. Special requirements such as trafficability or installation in standing water must be taken into account when designing the manhole and must be requested separately. Depending on the load case, additional on-site measures for load transfer or buoyancy protection may be required.

The shaft must be backfilled in layers with non-cohesive backfill material that complies with the relevant standards and compacted in layers. The backfill material must be well compactable, permeable, shear-resistant, frost-proof and free of sharp objects. The specifications for bedding in accordance with the DVGW W 400-2 and ATV-A 127 worksheets and DIN EN 805 must be observed. Overbuilding and/or influences due to foundation loads from buildings or similar must be ruled out. The appropriate distances from buildings or other structures must be observed.

The manufacturer’s installation instructions must be observed.
