On Saturday, September 27, 2025, the big day finally arrived: GNV GmbH opened its doors in Geisa for the first time as part of Open Industry Day – and the interest was overwhelming. Under the motto “Experience the future with geothermal energy,” numerous visitors and their families were able to gain exciting insights into the world of sustainable energy.
Exciting insights and many wow moments
During tours of the company, guests gained exclusive insights into our work processes and learned how we at GNV are taking the geothermal market to a new level with innovative distribution systems and distribution shafts. The technical presentation on the efficient use of geothermal energy and the exchange with our team were also particularly well received.

Dipl.-Ing. Dirk Gnodtke, research associate at the Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Infrastructures and Geotechnologies (IEG), further enriched the afternoon with an inspiring presentation on climate-neutral energy systems of the future. He presented various research and practical projects, focusing in particular on the innovative combination of heat pumps and hydrogen, which impressed many guests.

Live highlight: Test drilling with “Der Brunnenbauer”
An absolute highlight was the live test drilling for a geothermal probe on our premises. Together with our partner Der Brunnenbauer, we were also able to offer feasibility studies – citizens were able to find out on site whether drilling for geothermal heating was possible at their home address. This offer met with particularly great interest.

A colorful children’s program
There was also plenty on offer for our younger guests: lots of colorful artwork was created during the painting competition with our mascots Günni and Günther, two geothermal shafts. The three best pictures were selected by our team and awarded prizes – a great souvenir for the children. In addition, face painting and the large bouncy castle ensured lots of fun and smiling faces.

A feast for all the senses – with heart
In addition to exciting specialist topics, there was also plenty to eat and drink: from savory specialties to sweet treats, there was something for everyone. We are particularly proud of our fundraising campaign for Helping Angels: thanks to the generosity of our guests and an additional contribution from us, we were able to raise a substantial amount to support the valuable work of Helping Angels.
A huge thank you
We would like to express our sincere thanks to all visitors for their keen interest, to our partners for their successful cooperation, and to our team, whose dedication and passion made this day possible.
👉 Conclusion: The open house demonstrated the significant interest in geothermal energy and sustainable energy solutions. It was a day filled with knowledge, encounters, and enthusiasm—and a strong signal for the energy of the future.
