To date, the year 2023 has already been quite eventful for GNV GmbH. But now came the moment that Managing Director Sandro Neumann and the entire team had been waiting for a long time. The world’s first robotic system for welding geothermal distribution systems was installed in the new production facility in Geisa. It took over 3.5 years from the initial idea for such a system to its completion.
“Looking at the current IPCC 2023 report confirms to me that our path is not only right, but absolutely important. Continuing as before is no longer an option. The 1.5°C target agreed in Paris in 2015 will be missed by a wide margin. We must now do everything we can to ensure that the consequences of this do not become even more dramatic for us,” says Sandro Neumann.
The rapid and successful implementation of the global heat transition is an important key to slowing down climate change
In Germany alone, around 33% of energy is used for hot water and heating buildings. And in view of the increasingly hot summers, even more energy will be needed in future to provide cooling. By using geothermal energy, we can heat and cool efficiently without destroying our planet. With the completion of the robot, GNV GmbH will be able to cover over 20% of Germany’s geothermal energy requirements. The company is thus setting a new milestone for the rapid implementation of the heat transition and making a fundamentally important contribution to the decarbonization of our society.
